There used to be a time when those people went
To work on whatever they used to know
Years they spent on their own
Living fast so that life would go on
Trusting tears to let them grow
Starting fights just to not let go
Hurt oneself but not today
Is the day we lose our way
We went back when autumn came
Turning ourselves down again
Spreading pain on the ground
Begging for time to turn around
All those couples settled down
You had failed you lost your mind
Trust no one but you let me stay
And closed the door to all your friends
I guess those people knew their truth
They ran out of love but that's nothing new
Now they're lost in misery
Obsessed and stubborn, stuck in history
Helpless actions built their hope
Reckless fights only hurt them both
Look at what they now became
Broken, hostile with nothing left to gain
But who's to say they wouldn't make their way back now
And who would have taken any notice if they turned their backs on everything else
Although their voices slowly merge
And although their minds may slowly die
You would be scared but not by their air
But by their delusional belief
That one day they'll be the greatest thing you are ever gonna see
And who's to tell them to give up now
For all the suffer they've been through
All the love they paid for too
This story never seems to end
But it always begins with you
And you thought you were everything
everyone else ever dreamt to become
And you speak of love like you knew about it all along
But suddenly you lost everything you ever knew
And you turned out to be nothing but another failed version of you
You really thought you were something special, you know
To me to you to anyone who'd ever come along
But we'll always have our differences
How can you be so sure it's about all that stupid shit and not about you
You learned you could love but then hate took over
And if it wasn't for all that shit and hate
you wouldn't have loved me 'til this day
But if it wasn't for you not trying to be like anyone else
You wouldn't have hit me when I said all that shit actually was okay
But you did and it hurts and drives me mad
Exactly like those awful words you screamed at me while you drove us on the highway
and things got bad
And what is it that's been left for them now
A gasp for air, one hand raised too high
At a point where no one would have made it back alive
At the doorstep, screaming way too loud
But that's just something you would never mind
Isolation is their best weapon
and their most despiteful way
To make sure they both will always stay
To make sure they're as immortal as they say
To make sure no one will ever understand, demand or rearrange
the ground on which they both stand
Now they've both fallen asleep
And together in their dream
They see everything as it was always meant to be
Then you see why they hold on so tight
Why they spent every night, every one of their fights
Promising it will all be alright
In the end
They always find a way
A way to make it back
